It's attachment to our mental images that makes us take feedback personally. How many people recognise that these images we spend so much time & energy building & strengthening are dangerous? They come in the way of our own freedom & growth. It takes awareness & maturity to embrace a beginners mind & see things objectively.

Perhaps! I find self-inquiry and meditation to be helpful in cultivating a higher degree of friendliness towards onself. This is useful as "friendliness & judgement" don't typically go well together. So when one increases the other automatically decreses. End of the day we all have to move beyond "this sounds good" to really being able to apply it in our life in actuality. That's all.

Speaking for myself. Self inquiry, meditation, journaling, contemplation -- all of these required a bit of guidance for me to use them well.

Apply - spot on. Actions are what matter.
