Your Floor Determines Your Future, Not Your Goals
Raise the Floor
Most people obsess over their goals.
They write them down.
They visualise them.
They beat themselves up for not hitting them.
They set new ones when the old ones fade.
But here’s the truth:
Goals don’t shape your future.
Your floor does.
Your goals describe the future you wish to reach.
Your floor describes the future you’re actually building.
Day after day, choice after choice.
Action after action.
You don’t rise to the level of your goals.
You fall to the level of your floor.
Here’s how to build a floor that actually moves your life forward:
1. Define the minimum version of your routines.
Not the perfect workout, but the 12-minute fallback.
For example, do this everyday.
Not the ideal diet, but 2 anchor meals.
That means you get protein and vegetables in them. And you don’t worry too much about the other stuff, just yet.
Not the flawless sleep plan, but 1 grounding ritual.
I do a 5-minute breathing routine in bed.
2. Make the floor automatic.
Your minimum standards should happen without negotiation.
They’re identity-level, not motivation-level.
If you are not able to meet these standards, you have to lower your floor. Anything that is not zero will work.
3. Let your goals shape direction, not pressure.
Goals are a compass.
Not a scoreboard.
They tell you where to aim, not how to behave each day.
Here’s why your floor matters more than anything you dream about:
1. Floors compound.
Small, reliable actions accumulate into massive long-term identity shifts.
Being a “fit/healthy” person means you have the habits and rituals of that person. And you will slowly get there as you fix a floor, and slowly raise it.
2. Floors survive chaos.
Goals collapse in stressful weeks. Floors keep you in motion.
Starting from zero is the biggest issue.
Staying afloat is undervalued.
3. Floors create inevitability.
When your floor rises, your future becomes less about desire and more about direction.
You never lose momentum.
Because you never collapse to zero.
Your goals are imaginary.
Your floor is real.
Build the floor, and the future takes care of itself.

Wow!! Makes a lot more sense . Even if we fall , we fall a step higher than where we started . Good read coach:)
We fixate so much on who we want to be in the future we miss who we are right now. Who we are right now is the starting point. All necessary work happens from there!
